Track & Field Collects Nine All-Region Awards from USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS (May 14, 2019) – Six members of the Franklin Pierce University track & field program have combined to collect nine All-East Region awards from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the outdoor season, as announced on Tuesday by the USTFCCCA.

The USTFCCCA bestows All-Region honors to the top five individuals in each event in their respective region. For the outdoor season, Franklin Pierce collected six All-Region accolades on the women’s side and three on the men’s side.

Senior CeCe Telfer (Lebanon, N.H.) highlighted things for the women’s team. She earned All-East Region honors in four events: the 400 meters (54.41), the 400-meter hurdles (57.79), the 200-meter dash (24.30) and the 100-meter hurdles (13.35). Telfer was the East Region’s top performer in the 400 meters, as well as both hurdles events.

Telfer was joined on the All-Region slate for the Ravens by freshman Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico), who was honored in the high jump (1.74m), and senior Lilian Baah (Danielson, Conn.), who was honored in the triple jump (11.92m). Brena was the East Region’s top performer in the triple jump.

Meanwhile, the men’s team had a trio of All-Region athletes, led by sophomore Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France), who was the East Region’s leading performer in the 800 meters (1:50.10). Freshman Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) was honored in the 10,000 meters (32:04.43), while junior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) earned All-Region accolades in the 400-meter hurdles (53.01).

The Ravens are expected to have multiple athletes selected to the NCAA Championships when the field is on Tuesday.
