Baah, Telfer Shine as Track & Field Competes at Dartmouth Relays

HANOVER, N.H. (January 13, 2018) – Seniors Lilian Baah (Danielson, Conn.) and CeCe Telfer (Lebanon, N.H.) both hit NCAA Championships qualifying marks on Sunday, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University track & field team, which had select athletes in action at the Dartmouth Relays. The women collected 20 points to finish fifth, out of 10 scoring teams, while the men procured eight points, to finish seventh, out of nine teams.

All 20 points for the women's team on Sunday came courtesy of Baah and Telfer, who each won their respective events. Telfer turned in a time of 8.35 seconds to win the 60-meter hurdles. While it was not her fastest time of the season, it was good enough to hit the NCAA Championships automatic qualifying mark again. Meanwhile, Baah posted a mark of 11.65 meters to win the triple jump. The season-best and school-record distance allowed her to reach the NCAA Championships provisional qualifying standard again.

Though she did not score, freshman Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) was also in action on Sunday, and turned in a seventh-place finish in the high jump, by clearing 1.60 meters.

Meanwhile, the men's team got all eight of its points via the performance of senior Robert Boardman (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) in the high jump. He got up and over 1.80 meters, to finish fifth.

The Ravens are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 19, when they travel to Lewiston, Maine, for the Bates Invitational.
