Women’s Track & Field Has Two Earn All-New England at Second Day of NEICAAA Championships

HANOVER, N.H. (May 12, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team had just two student-athletes in action on Saturday, at the second day of the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Dartmouth, but both set or tied school records on the way to earning All-New England honors.

In total, Franklin Pierce scored nine points over the course of the two days, which was good enough to tie for 23rd, out of 39 teams to score at the meet. Northeastern claimed the New England crown with 121 points, while host Dartmouth followed in second (99.62 points) and University of Massachusetts rounded out the top three (86.5 points).

Graduate student Nicole Galewski (Whitman, Mass.) established a new school record of 4571 points in the heptathlon. It was good enough to earn a bronze medal for a third-place finish, which earned six points for the Ravens.

Junior Lilian Baah (Danielson, Conn.) picked up the remaining three points for the Ravens by matching her own school record in the triple jump. A mark of 11.42 meters was good for sixth place.
