Women’s Track & Field Competes at First Day of NEICAAA Championships

HANOVER, N.H. (May 11, 2018) – Six members of the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team were in action on Friday, at the first day of the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Dartmouth College.

Graduate student Nicole Galewski (Whitman, Mass.) had the most successful day of the group of Ravens in action, as she appears well on her way to All-New England honors in the heptathlon. With four of the seven heptathlon events being contested on Friday, she finished in the top three in the field in three of the disciplines. Galewski won the heptathlon version of the 100-meter hurdles (14.59), took second in the shot put (10.49m) and tied for third in the high jump (1.53m).

Elsewhere, Franklin Pierce scored a top-15 finish courtesy of senior Emily Quinn (West Bridgewater, Mass.) in the hammer throw. Quinn posted a throw of 49.53 meters to finish 13th.

Alyssa Harris (Billerica, Mass.) was the lone freshman in action for the Ravens on Friday at Dartmouth. She finished 20th in the 100-meter dash (12.58) and 24th in the 200-meter dash (25.86). Also on the track, sophomore Julia Cormier (Northwood, N.H.) placed 17th in the 10,000 meters (39:16.04).
