Galewski All-New England Performance Leads Women’s Track & Field on First Day of NEICAAA Championships

BOSTON (February 2, 2018) – Graduate student Nicole Galewski (Whitman, Mass.) earned her sixth career All-New England honor on Friday, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team on the first day of the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Northeastern at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

Galewski chalked up 3250 points to finish sixth in the pentathlon and earn the All-New England accolades. The point total also represented a school record in the event for Franklin Pierce. The performance earned the Ravens three points at the meet.

Franklin Pierce had four other athletes in action on Friday in Boston, all in track events. Freshman Megan Holland (Clermont, Fla.) and sophomore Daijanique White (Hartford, Conn.) both partook in the 500 meters. Holland placed 25th, with a time of 1:23.41, while White finished 28th, with a mark of 1:25.94.

At a shorter distance, freshman Alyssa Harris (Billerica, Mass.) took 27th in the 200-meter dash, with a run of 26.71 seconds. Meanwhile, sophomore Rebecca Zylak (Goffstown, N.H.) scored a top-10 finish in the 5000 meters, by placing 10th, with a time of 19:17.24.

The NEICAAA Championships wrap up on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.
