Farago Nets School Record for Women’s Track & Field at Terrier Classic

BOSTON (January 26, 2018) – Freshman Marissa Farago (Salisbury, Mass.) notched a school record in the 3000 meters on Friday, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University.

Farago finished 60th in the 3000 meters, with a run of 10:38.62. The school-record time was also good enough to rank 10th in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Elsewhere, Franklin Pierce got a pair of top-five finishes on Friday at BU. Graduate student Nicole Galewski (Whitman, Mass.) placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.05), while senior Emily Quinn (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished fifth in the weight throw (16.36m). Both of the marks were good enough to meet the NEICAAA Championships qualifying standard in their respective events, though both had already punched their tickets earlier in the season. In addition, Galewski's time in the 60-meter hurdles was good enough to rank second in both the NE10 and the East Region.

The Ravens return to action on Feb. 2-3, when they return to Boston for the NEICAAA Championships.
