BOSTON (February 10, 2017) – Senior Nicole Galewski (Weymouth, Mass.) moved into the top 10 in the Northeast-10 Conference in the long jump on Friday, as she posted one of the leading performances for the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational.

Galewski put together a leap of 5.33 meters to place 19th on Friday. The mark was also good enough to move her into eighth in the NE10 so far this winter in the event.

It was one of two top-20 performances for the Ravens on the day, as junior Emily Quinn (West Bridgewater, Mass.) added a 17th-place finish in the weight throw, with a heave of 15.56 meters. Farther back in the weight throw, senior Kendra Plant (Cumberland, R.I.) placed 35th, with a throw of 13.73 meters. Elsewhere in field events, freshman Katey Comstock (Windsor, Vt.) finished 30th in the shot put, with a throw of 11.58 meters.

Out on the track, freshman Ayodele O'uhuru (Montvale, N.J.) turned in a time of 7.96 seconds in the 60-meter dash to finish 23rd. Meanwhile, Franklin Pierce's 4x400-meter relay team moved into 10th in the NE10 on the season, by posting a time of 4:11.78, to finish 43rd. The lineup consisted of junior Danielle Crawford (Lowell, Mass.), Galewski, freshman Ariana Alvarado (Naugatuck, Conn.) and freshman Meghan Tarr (Atkinson, N.H.).

Franklin Pierce will field a distance medley relay team at BU on Saturday, before the men's team competes in its half of the meet.

The Ravens return to action on Saturday, Feb. 18, when they travel to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston for the Northeast-10 Championship.
