Women’s Track & Field Sends Relay Teams, Lindoe to Penn Relays

Rest of team back in action on Sunday

Loney Loney ran the lead leg of both the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays for the Ravens at the Penn Relays.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 26, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce University women's track and field team fielded a pair of relay squads this week at the prestigious Penn Relays, the oldest and largest track and field meet in the country.

Franklin Pierce entered quartets in both the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays on Thursday at the Penn Relays. The 4x100-meter lineup consisted of sophomore Monique Loney (Stamford, Conn.), sophomore Jackie Price (Brick, N.J.), sophomore Nicki Zeigler (Circleville, N.Y.) and freshman Melanie Hill (Danbury, Conn.). Meanwhile, the 4x400-meter squad was made up of Loney, Hill, sophomore Danielle Koch (Coventry, Conn.) and Price. The 4x100 team ran a time of 50.12 seconds to finish 77th out of 105 teams, while the 4x400 brigade posted a 4:17.28 to finish 87th out of 87.

On Saturday, freshman Holly Lindoe (Holbrook, N.Y.) represented the Ravens in an event which is not contested at the NCAA level, the 5000-meter racewalk. She posted a time of 28:05.93 to finish seventh among 10 competitors.

Franklin Pierce's full team returns to the track on Sunday, April 27, for the Pride Classic Invitational, hosted by Regis College in Weston, Mass.
