Lambert Lambert was the first Division II runner to finish in the mile run on Saturday at Harvard.

BOSTON, Mass. (December 8, 2012) – Freshman Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) finished sixth in the mile run on Saturday as the highest finisher among three top-10 performances for the Franklin Pierce University Women's track and field team at the Harvard Open Track Meet, held at Albert H. Gordon Track.

Lambert ran a 5:24.96 to finish approximately 15 seconds off the pace, set by Kathleen Sheehan of Massachusetts Dartmouth, who won the event in 5:09.30. Lambert was the first Division II runner to cross the line in a race which featured four other competitors from Northeast-10 Conference institutions.

Elsewhere, the Ravens posted another pair of top-10 finishes in shorter running events. Graduate student Amanda Kauffman (Rockland, Mass.) posted a 1:42.71 in the 600-meter run to finish just 4.03 seconds behind Harvard's Martina Salander, who won the event for the hosts. Kauffman was also the first Division II runner across the line and was bettered only by Springfield's Jenn Kapinos (1:42.46) among non-Division I participants.

Junior Jannice Sundqvist (Harnosand, Sweden) rounded out the top-10 performances for Franklin Pierce by placing 10th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.72, which put her 1.69 seconds behind first-place-finisher Camille Gooden of Northeastern. Sundqvist was second among Division II runners, as Merrimack's Noelia Figuereo (25.41) placed second.

The Ravens return to action on Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Dartmouth Relays in Hanover, N.H.
