Hyde to throw discus on Sunday

Olson Olson finished 15th in New England in the javelin on Saturday.

EASTON, Mass. (May 10, 2013) – Freshman Micaila Olson (Upton, Mass.) finished 15th in the javelin on Friday afternoon on the second day of the NEICAAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Stonehill at W.B. Mason Stadium. The meet is colloquially known as the New England Championship.

Olson's throw of 35.08 meters put her third of four Division II throwers at the meet. It was her longest throw in over a month, as she last topped 35 meters with a 37.97 in Lowell on April 6, which still stands as her longest of the season. Olson was the only Raven in action for Franklin Pierce on Saturday at Stonehill

The Ravens have one individual scheduled to compete on Saturday's final day of the NEICAAA Championship, as freshman Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) will take part in the discus. In addition, Franklin Pierce is tentatively scheduled to field a 4x800-meter relay team on Saturday.
