Lambert, Price, Sundqvist Represent Women’s Track & Field at Day One of NEICAAA Indoor Championship

Lambert places 24th in 1,000 meters

Lambert Lambert had the highest Raven finish on the first day of the program's inaugural trip to the NEICAAA Indoor Championship.

BOSTON, Mass. (February 22, 2013) – Three members of the Franklin Pierce University women's track and field team competed on Saturday at the first day of the NEICAAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Boston University at BU Track and Tennis Center. The event is colloquially known as the New England Championship.

Freshman Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) had the best run of the day for the Ravens, in relation to her peers. She ran a 3:08.11 to place 24th out of 30 runners in the 1,000 meters. She was one of four Northeast-10 runners to qualify for the event and narrowly finished second out of the group, as Merrimack's Briana Devereaux ran a time only 0.06 seconds slower to finish 25th.

Elsewhere on Saturday, junior Jannice Sundqvist (Harnosand, Sweden) posted a 59.77 to finish 31st out of 34 runners in the 400-meter dash. Freshman Jackie Price (Brick, N.J.) ran a 9.62 to finish 33rd out of 35 competitors in the 60-meter hurdles.

Franklin Pierce's 4x800-meter relay squad is scheduled to run on Saturday at the NEICAAA Championship.
