Women’s Soccer: A Kudrikow Brace Lifts Ravens Over Setters, 3-0

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (09/28/24) – The Franklin Pierce women's soccer team traveled to Pleasantville, New York to face the Setters of Pace University, Saturday night. Olivia Kudrikow (Plymouth, Mass.) scored two goals late in the second half to give the Ravens the NE10 win.

RECORDS:

  • FPU: 7-1-0 (2-0-0 NE10)
  • Pace: 1-4-2 (0-1-1 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The first shot of the night wouldn't happen until 12-minutes into regulation when the Ravens' Claudia Peirce (Carver, Mass.) would rip a shot off the goal post. The first half would remain scoreless, but the Ravens would take four shots to the Setters one.
  • In the 53rd minute, the Ravens would take a short corner and Peirce would take on a few defenders at the top of the box. Peirce would take a shot that would then deflect off of a Setter defender and reach the back of the net to give the Ravens the 1-0 lead.
  • Later in the second half, Peirce would find Kudrikow out wide. Kudrikow takes on a defender at the top of the 18 and shoots the ball low past the diving Setters goalkeeper.
  • Once again, Peirce would find an open Kudrikow at the top of the box. Kudrikow would make a move past the goalkeeper for an open net. Kudrikow would score one more in the 83rd minute to upend the hosts, 3-0, for the conference defeat.

IN BETWEEN THE LINES:

  • The Ravens outshot the Setters, 15-3.
  • Emilie Fox (Bridgewater, Mass.) would make two saves in net.
  • The Ravens had 7 corner kicks to the Setters one.

Franklin Pierce returns home when they host the Falcons of Bentley University on Wednesday, October 2. The match is set for 7 PM.
