HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens didn't have much possession in the first half as the Hawks dominated play, outshooting them 9-3. One of the few chances came from junior defender Ruby Conroy (Hawthorne, N.J.) in the 27th minute who fired a shot just outside the box, skipping right to the keeper. Freshman Mikayla Horton (East Islip, N.Y.) recorded the other shot on goal as she sent a cross into the box that was intercepted by the keeper. The game remained scoreless heading into the second half.

  • The game remained a stalemate until the very end. The Hawks finally broke through in the 81st minute. Riley DiGilio rocketed a shot from the 18 that soared above the diving reach of keeper Emilie Fox (Bridgewater, Mass.) and into the top left corner. The Hawks held on to the 1-0 lead for the final 8:34 of regulation, handing the Ravens the loss in non-conference play.

  • Emilie Fox suffered the loss (0-1-0) despite an incredible 7 save performance.
