Women’s Soccer Announces Recruiting Class

RINDGE, N.H. (June 11, 2020) – Head coach Jonathan Garbar and the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer program are proud to announce the team’s incoming nine-player recruiting class. The group features six international signings, as well as trio players who will join the Ravens from high schools in the northeastern United States.

Six Ravens Earn Spots on NE10 Academic All-Conference Teams

MANSFIELD, Mass. (February 4, 2020) – Franklin Pierce University has had six student-athletes earn Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the fall season, as announced on Monday by the Conference office. Junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) and sophomore Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) of the men’s cross country team, senior midfielder Niklas Laudahn (Olfen, Germany) and junior forward Yannik Felber (Vallendar, Germany) of the men’s soccer team, senior back Jessica Strassburg (Longmeadow, Mass.) of the field hockey team, and senior forward Veronica Marques (Sao Paulo, Brazil), were all honored by the league. The selected Ravens were among 89 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the NE10.

Women’s Soccer has Two Earn All-Region Honors from United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 11, 2019) – Senior forward Veronica Marques (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and senior midfielder Gabi Pereira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team have both earned All-East Region honors from United Soccer Coaches, as announced earlier this week by the coaches organization. Marques was named to the All-East Region Second Team, while Pereira landed on the All-East Region Third Team.

MANSFIELD, Mass. (November 8, 2019) – For the second straight season, senior forward Veronica Marques (Sao Paulo, Brazil) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team has been named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team, as announced on Friday afternoon by the league office. She headlined two All-Conference selections for the Ravens, as sophomore midfielder Jessica Magerman (Bellingham, Mass.) landed on the All-NE10 Third Team. In addition, freshman midfielder Camille Sahirul (North Haven, Conn.) was selected to the league’s All-Rookie Team, to give Franklin Pierce a total of three honorees in the NE10’s season-end awards.

Women’s Soccer Plays to 1-1 (2 OT) Draw at Assumption in Season Finale

WORCESTER, Mass. (November 5, 2019) -- In need of a win to have a chance to extend its season on Tuesday afternoon, the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team came up just short on the road at Assumption. Trailing 1-0 late, the Ravens got an 82nd-minute equalizer from senior forward Veronica Marques (Sao Paulo, Brazil), but neither team was able to find a game-winning goal through two overtimes, as the two sides played to a 1-1 tie in Northeast-10 Conference action at Multi-Sport Stadium.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (November 2, 2019) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team took a 2-1 win against the Le Moyne Dolphins in Northeast-10 Conference play on the road at Ted Grant Field on Saturday. Sophomore midfielder Jessica Magerman (Bellingham, Mass.) and senior forward Veronica Marques (Sao Paulo, Brazil) both put home goals in the first half for the Ravens, who led the way statistically throughout.

(October 30, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team put the home portion of its schedule to rest in style on Wednesday night, as the Ravens chalked up a 4-0 victory over visiting Saint Michael’s at Sodexo Field. Freshman forward Marissa Orlando (Peabody, Mass.) bookended the scoring with a pair of goals to lead the way in the Northeast-10 Conference contest, as Franklin Pierce snapped a four-game losing streak.

Women’s Soccer Tripped up by AIC, 1-0, on Senior Night

RINDGE, N.H. (October 22, 2019) – For the second straight outing, the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team put together the better statistical game, but came up on the short end of a 1-0 score line. This time, the Ravens were edged out by American International, which got a 32nd-minute goal from freshman midfielder Trystin Burger to pick up a Northeast-10 Conference victory at Sodexo Field. The Ravens honored the accomplishments of their senior class prior to the game.

Women’s Soccer Upended at Adelphi, 1-0

October 19, 2019

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (October 19, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team was fairly dominant statistically on Saturday night, but was unable to solve Adelphi sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Hofmeier at Motamed Field. Instead, a 55th-minute goal from sophomore midfielder Jacklyn Lada stood as the game’s only goal, as the Ravens suffered a 1-0 defeat to the homestanding Panthers in the Northeast-10 Conference contest.

Women’s Soccer Falls at New Haven Late, 2-1

October 12, 2019

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (October 12, 2019) – A pair of goals against in the final 31 minutes sunk the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team on the road on Saturday afternoon. Junior forward Samantha Roth put home the game-winner in the 82nd minute, as host New Haven rallied from a 1-0 second-half deficit to deal the Ravens a 2-1 defeat in Northeast-10 Conference play at Kathy Zolad Stadium. Sophomore midfielder Jessica Magerman (Bellingham, Mass.) had the lone score in the loss for Franklin Pierce.

Led by head coach Jonathan Garbar and his staff, the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team found success last year by winning their league-leading eighth Northeast-10 Conference title and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Soccer Championship. If you ask the team, they’ve already started to find success this year.

Women’s Soccer Tripped up in Overtime by Saint Anselm, 2-1

RINDGE, N.H. (October 8, 2019) – Overtime was not long-lived at Sodexo Field on Tuesday night. After the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team equalized in the 59th minute to force the extra session, it took Saint Anselm just 22 seconds into overtime to put home the game-winner and come away with a 2-1 victory in the Northeast-10 contest. Senior midfielder Caly Farina potted both goals for the visiting Hawks, while sophomore forward Ciersten Palumbo (Holbrook, N.Y.) struck for Franklin Pierce.

Furious Late Rally Lifts Women’s Soccer over Bentley, 3-2 (OT)

October 05, 2019

RINDGE, N.H. (October 5, 2019) – It took until the final quarter-hour for the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team to break through on Saturday night, but once it did, the goals came like water out of a faucet. Goals in the 77th and 83rd minutes erased a 2-0 Bentley lead, while a 97th-minute tally by freshman midfielder Tess McKenzie (Warren, R.I.) capped the rally and gave Franklin Pierce a 3-2, overtime win over visiting Bentley in Northeast-10 Conference play. Junior midfielder Marissa Burns scored twice in the first half for Bentley.
