WINTHROP, Mass. (November 26, 2019) – Senior defenseman Bridgette Prentiss (Buffalo, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team has been named New England Women’s Hockey Alliance Player of the Week, for the week ending on Nov. 24, as announced on Tuesday morning by the league office. It marked the second time this season Prentiss has earned Player of the Week honors and fourth time in eight weeks the accolade has gone to a Raven.

Prentiss was busy piling up six points (2-4-6) over the weekend, as the Ravens swept away her hometown team from Buffalo State. She did the heavy lifting in a 6-1 shellacking on Friday night, as she dished out three assists, including one on the game-winner, and added a goal along the way as well, for a four-point night. Prentiss followed up with a goal and an assist on Saturday as well, as the Ravens finished the sweep with a 5-1 win.

On Friday night, Prentiss notched the 66th point of her career to become the program’s all-time leading defenseman scorer.

On the season, Prentiss has played in 11 games and is the team’s leading scorer, with 17 points on six goals and 11 assists, both of which lead the squad as well. She has notched three power-play goals and one game-winning goal along the way, and is tied for the team lead in plus/minus at +7.

Prentiss is expected to play in her 100th career game later on Tuesday, when the Ravens wrap up a five-game homestand by playing host to Suffolk in a non-conference contest. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena in Winchendon, Mass.
