WINTHROP, Mass. (February 18, 2020) – Senior defenseman Bridgette Prentiss (Buffalo, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team has been named New England Women’s Hockey Alliance Rookie of the Week, for the week ending on Feb. 16, as announced on Tuesday by the league office. It is the third time this season she has garnered the award.

Prentiss chalked up five points on the week, on two goals and three assists, to go with 14 shots and a +3 rating as the Ravens swept a weekend series at Post. On Friday afternoon, she was +4 and dished out a pair of assists. She followed up on Saturday with two goals and an assist to go with 11 shots on goal.

On the season, Prentiss has played in 30 games for the Ravens and is the NEWHA’s leading scorer with 44 points on 19 goals and 25 assists. She has racked up 13 power-play goals and three game-winning goals, and is +15 with 122 shots on goal.

The Ravens (21-10-0) have a bye through to the semifinal round of the NEWHA Tournament and will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Sullivan Arena in Manchester, N.H., on the campus of Saint Anselm. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m., and the opponent is to be determined, pending first round action on Tuesday and Wednesday.
