Raven Women Place Second For Second Consecutive Week

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. (September 17, 2018) – For the second straight week the Franklin Pierce University women's golf program placed second, this time at the Le Moyne College Fall Invitational hosted at The Pompey Club in Jamesville, N.Y.

Franklin Pierce was in second during both rounds by finishing their first 18 at 324 (+36) while dropping six strokes off their second-round showing (318, +30). West Chester University brought home the team championship back to Pennsylvania at 634 (+58).

Junior Taylor Hartley (Battle Ground, Wash.) was the only Raven golfer to place within the top-5. She tallied her second-best finish in her FPU golf career as she carded a two-day 156 (+12). Hartley subtracted six strokes from her day one scorecard to complete the second round at 75 (+3). She also ranked second in total pars (23) and was tied for first in par 3 scoring (3.20, +2).

Team captains Zoe Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) tied for 11th place shooting 164 (+20). Yamamoto dropped two strokes on Monday to jump four spots on the individual leaderboard. Freshman Christine Songcuan (Lancaster, Calif.) rounded out the Raven top-15 showings at 165 (+21).

Rosa Jones (Mastic, N.Y.) putted home one of only two eagles during the tournament. The junior was the Raven most improved golfer Monday by knocking off 12 strokes from her Sunday round. She tied for 25th place at 170 (+26).

The Ravens come back home to prepare for their home tournament, the FPU Fall Invitational Sunday at the Keene Country Club.
