Bastian Bastian and the Ravens will look to avenge a January loss to SCSU on Sunday in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship.

RINDGE, N.H. (February 25, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University women's basketball team will open postseason play on Sunday afternoon, when the Ravens play host to Southern Connecticut State at 3 p.m. in The Fieldhouse in Rindge, in the quarterfinal round of the 2015 Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

Tickets for the game are $8 for adults, $5 for children and seniors, and $1 for college students with a valid ID from a Northeast-10 member institution. The first 100 Franklin Pierce students that present their University ID at the front door will have the cost of their ticket covered, courtesy of the Department of Athletics.

The Ravens are the second seed in the Northeast Division of the Northeast-10, while SCSU is the third seed in the Southwest Division. The teams are meeting for the second time this year with SCSU earning a 71-63 victory on Jan. 24, when the two met at Moore Field House in New Haven, Conn. Mariah Hankton led the way for the Owls with 20 points and eight rebounds. Junior forward Kara Charette (Fairhaven, Mass.) had 18 points in defeat for Franklin Pierce, while junior guard Natalie Bastian (Branford, Conn.) added eight points and 10 rebounds.

Franklin Pierce concluded the regular season with a 17-9 overall record and a 13-8 mark in the Northeast-10 Conference. Southern Connecticut State finished with a 14-14 regular-season record and an 11-9 mark in league play.

The contest is also a rematch of a first-round contest from last season's Northeast-10 Championship, a game which also took place in Rindge. The Ravens scored a 74-66 victory in that contest, behind 22 points from the then-sophomore Charette and 21 more from senior Brittany Martelle. Keshia Primo, who has also since graduated, poured in a game-high 29 points in defeat for SCSU.

The winner of Sunday's quarterfinal will advance to the semifinal round on Thursday, March 5, opponent and site to be determined.
