RINDGE, N.H. (August 21, 2012) -- Former Franklin Pierce University women's basketball standout Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) was recently named to the 2012 All-Olympic Women's Basketball Second-Team, which was produced by EuroBasket.com(.) Leedham earned a spot on the impressive squad after she turned in several spectacular performances for Great Britain as the team was making its first-ever appearance in the Summer Olympics earlier this month.

Leedham averaged a team-best 16.2 points per game over five contests for Great Britain and scored the first Olympic basket for the team in the sport of women's hoops. Leedham wasn't just a scoring whiz in the Olympics, as she also demonstrated her terrific all-around game with 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, while also swiping a team-high 12 steals.

She was joined on the second team by USA's Diana Taurasi and Angel McCoughtry, China's Miao Lijie and Brazil's Erika de Souza. USA's Candace Parker was named the MVP of the Olympics after she helped lead her team to Olympic golf. Overall, three teams were picked for the EuroBasket's All-Olympic squad, with each unit being comprised of five players.

Leedham starred at Franklin Pierce from 2006-10 and is the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division II women's basketball history with 3,050 career points. She was twice named the WBCA/State Farm Division II National Player of the Year in 2008 and 2010.

The women's basketball program soared to unparalleled heights during her career, including winning back-to-back Northeast-10 Conference championships (2009 & 2010), three-straight NCAA East Regional championships (2008-10), a trip to the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship game and a berth in the 2010 Final Four.

Following her outstanding collegiate career, Leedham was drafted by the Connecticut Sun in the third round of the 2010 WNBA Draft. She has played two seasons of professional basketball overseas since leaving Franklin Pierce, including this past season for the Bulleen Boomers in Australia.
