Jacobs Earns 2nd Team All-Northeast-10 Honors

Stoughton, Mass., native earns Ravens fifth All-NE-10 selection 

RINDGE, N.H. (March 7, 2006) - Franklin Pierce senior forward Heather Jacobs (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) has been named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball second team. The announcement, made over the weekend at the NE-10 Championships, comes after a vote of the 15 NE-10 women's basketball head coaches.

Jacobs earns her first All-Conference nod after leading Franklin Pierce with 14.0 points (7th NE-10), 5.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals this season. She also leads the NE-10 in free-throw percentage, converting 85.6-percent (83-97) of her attempts so far this year. Jacobs is the fifth All-Northeast-10 selection for the program since joining the Conference in 2000 and marks the second-straight year the Ravens have had a pick.            

Jacobs has scored in double-figures in 21 of her 25 games played, including each of her last seven, leading the Ravens in scoring 11 times. She netted a team season-high 22 points on two occasions this season. Jacobs recorded one of just two Franklin Pierce double-doubles this year with ten points and a team season-high 13 rebounds against American International College (2/4). She was the Ravens top rebounder on eight occasions this season.

Jacobs enters her final collegiate weekend ranked 20th in program history with 949 career points and 465 career rebounds. She has also totaled 110 steals and 129 assists over her career.

Franklin Pierce (14-14, 11-11 NE-10) placed eighth in the Northeast-10 during the regular season, earning a home playoff game for the first time since joining the Conference in 2000. The Ravens have extended their season by accepting a bid to the ECAC Division II Tournament this weekend and will visit second-seeded Dominican College for a first round game on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The winner advances to Saturday's championship to face top-seeded Philadelphia University at Holy Family University at 5:30 p.m.
