RINDGE, N.H. (April 29, 2019) – Franklin Pierce University softball freshman infielder/catcher Cat Simmons (Pine Plains, N.Y.) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week it was announced Monday morning by the league offices. It is the second time this season Simmons has been named top rookie.

Simmons appeared in all six games for the Ravens this past week carrying the team to three wins. The freshman slashed .368/.429/.842 (7-for-19) with three home runs, six RBI, five runs scored and one steal. In the 3-2 victory at home against Saint Michael's, Simmons bashed a walk-off homer in the bottom of the eighth completing a 2-for-4, two run scored effort. She also hit a two-run bomb in the seventh inning for insurance in the Ravens 7-4 victory at Stonehill on Saturday. Her other homer came in the second game of the Saturday doubleheader.
