Track & Field Takes Men’s and Women’s Titles at Teamsgiving Relays - North

KEENE, N.H. (April 28, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University track & field program wrapped up the Teamsgiving Relays - North on Wednesday, with the second day of competition. The two-day meet wrapped up with throwing events at Keene State's athletic complex. When all was said and done, the Ravens' men's and women's squads both finished first out of three teams.

On the men's side, the Ravens piled up 152 points, while Assumption (72) finished second and Keene State (44) took third. In the women's meet, it was 116 points for Franklin Pierce, with Assumption (110) again in second and Keene State (40) in third.

Sophomore Julieth Nwosu (Brockton, Mass.) claimed first in the Kendra Covington Women's Shot Put for her 12.98-meter mark, while freshman sister Nkechi Nwosu (Brockton, Mass.) claimed third for her 11.8-meter throw. However, in the Patience Turkson Women's Discus, it was Nkechi Nwosu who claimed top spot, with a throw of 37.11 meters, while Julieth Nwosu claimed second for her 36.45-meter mark. Graduate student Katey Comstock (Windsor, Vt.) took fourth in the discus after a 32.18-meter throw. In the Emily Quinn Women's Hammer, it was junior Julia Groll (Southington, Conn.) who placed first after throwing 38.09 meters. Junior Jessica Brewster (Castleton, Vt.) threw the 27.96 meters to take second in the Miranda Florence Women's Javelin.

For the men, sophomore Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) claimed first in the Peter Murray Men's Shot Put for his 14.81-meter mark. He also took first in the Private Josselyn's Men's Hammer for a 42.25-meter throw. Junior Croix Albee (Trenton, Maine) claimed second in the shot put after throwing it 14.40 meters. He returned for the AB Neverstops Men's Discus to claim first after a 39.49-meter throw. Junior Kevin McCree (Mansfield, Mass.) took second in the discus for his 38.14-meter performance. After a 13.14-meter throw in the shot put, and a 37.44-meter throw in the discus, senior Eriq Joyce (Pepperell, Mass.) took third in both events.  Freshman Sal Lando (Sterling, Mass.) claimed third in the hammer for his 37.38-meter throw, while freshman Brogan Bonsaint (Somersworth, N.H.) took first in the John Delahanty Men's Javelin after throwing 57.59 meters.

The Ravens are scheduled to be in action both Friday (at Southern Connecticut State) and Saturday (at Southern New Hampshire) this weekend, in their final tune-ups before next week's Northeast-10 Conference Championship.
