Arlabosse Blisters Through 800m to Lead Men’s Track & Field at John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON (January 26, 2018) – Sophomore Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) turned in the nation's third-fastest time in the 800 meters on Saturday, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University.

Arlabosse turned in an 800-meter time of 1:50.77, which was good enough to take fifth at a meet which featured plenty of Division I talent. In addition to third in the country, the time is good for first in both the Northeast-10 Conference and the East Region on the season. It marked the second time this year Arlabosse met the NCAA Championships provisional qualifying standard in the event.

Elsewhere on the track, junior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) had a productive day in the 200- and 400-meter events. He was able to really shine in the 400, where he posted a mark of 48.70 seconds to finish eighth. The time was just 0.12 seconds off the NCAA provisional mark and is currently good for second in the NE10 and third in the East Region. Guay added a 48th-place finish in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 22.56 seconds.

Junior Gerald Leith (Dorchester, Mass.) was able to crack the top 15 in the 60-meter dash, as he finished 15th, with a time of 7.31 seconds. Meanwhile, freshman Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) turned in a respectable mile time of 4:25.71, to finish 91st.

In field events, freshman Croix Albee (Trenton, Maine) carried the day for the Ravens. He posted a heave of 13.19 meters in the shot put, to finish 21st. The distance was good enough to move him to 14th in the NE10 in the event.

The Ravens return to action on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 1-2, when they return to Boston for the NEICAAA Championships. On Feb. 2, Franklin Pierce will send those who aren't qualified for NEICAAAs off to Plymouth State University, for the Panther Invitational.
