RINDGE, N.H. (October 23, 2018) – Franklin Pierce University junior midfielder Noam Kolakofsky (Achziv, Israel) continued to dazzle on the offensive end as he racked up yet another goal, but it wasn't enough as the Ravens dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Northeast-10 Conference opponent American International College Tuesday evening during a rainy and foggy Senior Night on Sodexo Field. The win sends the Yellow Jackets to 6-8-1, 6-6-1 NE10 while the Ravens were stung to 7-9-0, 6-6-0 NE10.

Seniors Charlie Madden (Newton Abbot, England) and Jordan Barnett (Grimsby, England) were honored in a pregame ceremony for their contributions to the team, athletic department and the Franklin Pierce University community.

Before the game, the Ravens stood in third place in the NE10 standings with 18 points. After the loss, FPU slipped to seventh place and will need to defeat or tie Stonehill College (15 points) Friday night to officially clinch a third straight postseason berth as Assumption College (20 points), Southern Connecticut State University (18 points), and AIC (16 points) all hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Ravens.

Kolakofsky struck fast in the fifth minute. He collected a loose ball and rifled a one-timer from 30 yards out into the high right portion of the net. The Yellow Jackets answered back 20 minutes later as Adrian Romero roped a shot from the left side that was initially saved by Raven goalkeeper Jadel Poon-Lewis (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago). The ball however squirted out of his hands and Alexandre Frank dumped in the rock to tie the game.

The Ravens had a chance to win it late in the 84th minute. Yannik Felber (Vallendar, Germany) fed a through-ball to a streaking Jacob Maddox (Southborough, Mass.). Maddox pounded the ball with no one in front of him high and out of play.

In overtime, Connor Hicks crossed the ball from the left as Josip Validzic got behind the Raven defense. The ball hit his foot and Validzic roped a one-timer high cheese for the walk-off tally.

Yellow Jackets goalie Nicholas Romei moved to 3-2-1 on the campaign making four saves in the victory. Poon-Lewis suffered the setback falling to 7-9-0 making three saves in the loss.

The Ravens wrap up their regular season Friday at Stonehill College with first kick set for 3:00 p.m.
