#19 Ravens Drop Senior Day Contest to Le Moyne

RINDGE, N.H. (October 25, 2016) – The no. 19 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Le Moyne on Tuesday during Senior Day. With the setback, the Crimson and Grey fall to 10-4-0, 8-4-0 NE-10 and the win moves Le Moyne to 11-3-2, 8-3-1 NE-10.

Casey Schehl (Bedford, N.H.), Marius Preber (Jessheim, Norway), Louis Aurell-Foulser (Washington, D.C.), Drew Bois (Fairfield, Maine), John Lochhead (Walpole, Mass.), Rob Lavallee (Wakefield, R.I.) and Aidan Abolfazli (Worcester, Mass.) were honored in a pregame ceremony for their contributions to the team, athletic department and the Franklin Pierce University community.

Coming into the game, FPU was second in the conference standings and held a two point advantage over the guest Dolphins. After Le Moyne's 2-1 win, the Ravens dropped to the fourth spot and the Dolphins jump from fifth to third.

Marius Preber opened up the scoring as he corralled a cross from fellow upperclassman Casey Schehl and headed the rock home for his 11th goal of the season. That would be the only scoring for the Ravens offense.

Five minutes later, the guests drew the equalizer as Callum Donnelly gathered up a loose ball from a Seth Scarano blocked shot attempt and kicked it by starting goalie Jadel Poon-Lewis (Diego Martin, Trinidad & Tobago) to make it one all at the intermission.

12 minutes into the second stanza, Salar Faryar put the Dolphins up for good with his 10th goal of the season as he followed a missed shot by Donnelly that deflected high off the top of the crossbar and the senior midfielder put the ball into the bottom left of the cage.

With time running out, Noam Kolakofsky (Liman, Israel) scored what looked to be the tying goal off a free kick cross, but a Ravens player was ruled offside and the goal was nullified.

Ben Beaury stopped four shots in the win, his 10th of the campaign and moved to 10-2-2. Jadel Poon-Lewis and Aidan Abolfazli played a half in net each as they both made one save and allowed a goal apiece in the loss.

The Ravens wrap up their regular season on Friday when they travel to Assumption for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
