Roy Fink Named Head Coach of Franklin Pierce Men’s Soccer Program

RINDGE, N.H. (February 3, 2015) – Franklin Pierce University Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh has announced that Roy Fink has been named the 10th head coach of the University’s men’s soccer program. Fink comes to Franklin Pierce after seven years coaching college soccer in New England, including the previous three as a head coach elsewhere in the Northeast-10 Conference.

(November 5, 2014) – Graduate student midfielder Quincy Appah (Accra, Ghana) has been named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team, to lead a pair of All-Conference selections for the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team, as announced Wednesday by the Conference office. Sophomore forward Dallas Donovan (South Yarmouth, Mass.) earned All-Northeast-10 Third Team accolades.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 4, 2014) – SCSU sophomore midfielder Markus Jacobsen scored three times on Tuesday afternoon, as the seventh-seeded Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of second-seeded Southern Connecticut State in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at Jess Dow Field. Freshman goalkeeper Noah Varonier made four saves to record the shutout for SCSU.

(October 31, 2014) – On a chilly All Hallows’ Eve in New Hampshire, sophomore forward Andrew LaVoie (Hebron, Conn.) got behind the backline and put away a 65th-minute goal to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team to a 2-1 win over No. 7 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Graduate student back Daniel Ruiz had the goal for SCSU in defeat.

(October 28, 2014) – Merrimack sophomore forward Alexander Alleyne scored the game’s only goal in the 59th minute on Tuesday night, as the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of No. 25 nationally ranked Merrimack in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Freshman goalkeeper Jordan LeGuyader (Jersey, United Kingdom) made three saves in defeat for Franklin Pierce.

(October 25, 2014) – Graduate student midfielder David Magee (Lurgan, Ireland) scored in the 19th minute and junior midfielder Lorris Cortijo (Paris, France) scored in the 79th minute on Saturday night, as the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team posted a 2-1 victory over New Haven in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Sophomore forward Rob Poirier had the lone goal in defeat for New Haven.
Men’s Soccer Blanked at Adelphi, 2-0

(October 18, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team went on the road on Saturday evening and was unable to solve Adelphi senior goalkeeper Ahmad Salamah in a 2-0 loss in Northeast-10 Conference play at Motamed Field. Sophomore midfielder Caelan Hueber scored the game-winning goal in the 14th minute for Adelphi.

Sophomore midfielder Jack Lynch scored a first-half goal for Saint Anselm in defeat.

(October 11, 2014) -- Graduate student midfielder Bruno Fati (Brussels, Belgium) converted a free kick in the 66th minute on Saturday afternoon to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team to a 2-1 win over Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference play at Plumeri Sports Complex. Sophomore midfielder Tyler Casavant scored the lone goal in defeat for Saint Rose.

(October 7, 2014) – Junior midfielder Lorris Cortijo (Paris, France) and graduate student midfielder Quincy Appah (Accra, Ghana) scored first-half goals on Wednesday afternoon, but two second-half goals led to a 2-1 loss for the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team on the road at Stonehill in Northeast-10 Conference play at Skyhawk Field. Freshman forward Trevor Torres scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute for Stonehill.

(October 4, 2014) – Senior midfielder David Lima (Everett, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in the 60th minute and junior forward Marius Preber (Jessheim, Norway) added an insurance marker in the 86th minute on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team picked up a 2-0 win over Le Moyne in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Four different players factored in the scoring for the Ravens, as junior midfielder Lorris Cortijo (Paris, France) and graduate student midfielder Quincy Appah (Accra, Ghana) added assists.

(September 27, 2014) – Junior forward Marius Preber (Jessheim, Norway) and senior back Carlos Alvarez (Pawtucket, R.I.) each scored equalizing goals on Saturday night, as the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to play to a 2-2 tie in Northeast-10 Conference play at Assumption. Sophomore midfielders Sarandon Dias and Hector Sola-Morla scored on the night for Assumption.
