Castorf Named to 2019 NEILA All-Academic Team

RINDGE, N.H. (May 31, 2019) – Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse senior Jake Castorf (Holbrook, N.Y.) has been chosen to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) 2019 Division II All-Academic Team it was announced Tuesday afternoon.

Members of the team are nominated by head coaches in Divisions I, II and II, and are comprised of student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career.

This year saw an increase of 36 student-athletes who meet the criteria, which requires that nominees must have senior standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be a significant enough player that he was nominated for at least All-Conference selection.

Castorf was one of 128 student-athletes and one of 12 Division II players to collect the All-Academic honors. A NEILA Second Team choice, he appeared in 13 games for the Ravens earning a start in 11 of them. He carried the load on offense for Pierce with a team and career-high 32 goals and 45 points, chipping in a squad-best 13 assists. He also caused a personal-high best nine turnovers on the defensive end. Castorf concluded his Raven career ranking second all-time in program history in goals (90), assists (46) and points (136).

The Ravens finished the 2019 season with a 5-8 overall record and 3-8 mark in conference play.
