#6 Le Moyne Betters Men's Lacrosse 20-6

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (April 2, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse team scored first but fell behind early before suffering a 20-6 defeat to Northeast-10 Conference and no. 6 nationally-ranked Le Moyne College Tuesday afternoon on Ted Grant Field. With the win, the Dolphins swim to 9-2, 6-1 NE10 and the loss sends the Ravens to 4-3, 2-3 NE10.

Senior attack Matt Brewster (Merrimack, N.H.) and sophomore midfielder Josh Dorr (Brunswick, Maine) each scored two goals apiece. Graduate student Domenic St. Laurent (Amherst, N.H.) chipped in a team-high two assists in the defeat. Sophomore goalkeeper Justin Lorenzo (Goshen, N.Y.) made seven saves in the setback.

For the Dolphins, Devin Andrews recorded seven points chipping in a game-high four goals and three assist effort. Midfielder Josh Slowinski added three goals and one assist for the hosts. Riley Smith stared in net and stopped three shots in 30 minutes. Jack Sweeney came on to play 22:21 and made a team-high five saves.

The Ravens cracked the scoring column first when sophomore transfer Mike Alibrandi (Holliston, Mass.) drilled home an unassisted score to give the Ravens the early 1-0 lead 1:34 into the contest. Le Moyne answered with four goals to take a 4-1 advantage midway through the contest. A St. Laurent to Dorr connection with 5:29 left in the first quarter dropped the Raven deficit to 4-2. Two more Dolphin goals grew their margin to 6-2 at the end of the first.

A couple of minutes passed in the second quarter until the Ravens struck for their only man-advantage goal of the contest to cut into the deficit at 6-3 with 12:16 until halftime. Le Moyne would tack on four straight goals to build a 10-3 lead until Brewster's first goal of the game stopped the bleeding a bit. Two Andrews scores and an Andrews to John Howes pass gave the Dolphins a 13-4 lead at the intermission.

In the second half, Le Moyne outscored the Ravens 7-2 to take the contest 20-6.

Franklin Pierce is back in action on Saturday against no. 19 nationally-ranked Assumption College for a 1:00 p.m. showdown.
