WORCESTER, Mass. (March 22, 2009) - Assumption College posted an 18-4 victory over Franklin Pierce University in Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse action at Multi Sports Stadium this afternoon.

Sophomore John Murphy (Walpole, Mass./Bridgton Academy) led Assumption to victory in the Northeast-10 opener for both clubs with five goals and three assists for eight points. Junior Kevin Klaskin (Norfolk, Mass./Xavarian) added four goals and two assists for six points, while classmate Kevin Jurgens (Needham, Mass./Needham) contributed three goals and two assists for five points. Freshman Will Langevin (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) chipped in two goals and two assists for four points.

Freshman Jon Autorino (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex Regional) led Franklin Pierce with two goals. Seniors Ryan Boller (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) and Jon Priest (Burlington, Mass./Landmark School) each chipped in with a goal.

Junior Dan Shea (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip) made seven saves over 45-minutes of play in goal for Assumption, while sophomore Scott Vogel (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty) made two stops in 15-minutes. Sophomore Shea Campbell (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) finished with 12 saves in 59:41 for Franklin Pierce.

Assumption posted a 41-27 advantage in shots for the match, including a 31-12 edge in shots on goal. The Greyhounds were successful on 2-of-6 man-up chances, while Franklin Pierce was 0-for-9 with the man advantage. Assumption scored the first 14 goals of the match, staking out a 9-0 lead after a quarter of play, leading 13-0 at halftime. The Ravens scored the final three goals of the match, including a pair from Autorino.

Franklin Pierce (0-4, 0-1 NE-10) is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Bentley University at 4 p.m. Assumption (3-2, 1-0 NE-10) visits Saint Anselm College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
