Lucas Hamory scored a career-high
four goals on Tuesday at Saint Leo.

SAINT LEO, Fla. (March 18,
2008) – Saint Leo University scored seven of the
last eight goals of the game in earning a 14-9 victory over
Franklin Pierce University in non-conference men’s lacrosse
action on Tuesday night at University Field.
Saint Leo sophomore Kyle Marceau (Concord, N.H./Concord) led all
scorers with four goals and three assists for seven points.
Classmate Joe Guerin (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./WT Dwyer) had three
goals for the Lions, while Mark Dargon (Newton, Mass./Newton North)
and Chris Storrie (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) each had a pair of
tallies.
Sophomore Lucas Hamory (Canton, Mass./Canton)
paced the Ravens with a career-high four goals, while senior
captain Luke Ferreira (Farmington, Maine/Mount
Blue) was the only other Raven with multiple goals with
two.
Saint Leo took firm control of the game over the last 20 minutes,
as the Lions outscored the Ravens by a 7-1 margin down the stretch
to earn the victory. Marceau scored three times for Saint Leo
during the run, which was jumpstarted by a Benjamin Brigham
(Scituate, Mass./ Scituate) tally at 9:12 of the third quarter.
The Saint Leo run came in response to a Franklin Pierce run of its
own beginning late in the second period and into the third, as the
Ravens scored five consecutive goals to take their first lead of
the game (8-7) 8:33 into the third. Hamory scored three of his four
goals during the stretch, with Ferreira and senior captain
Russell Hodson (Chilmark, Mass./Martha's Vineyard)
also adding a goal apiece.
Franklin Pierce freshman goaltender Shea Campbell
(Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) got the start for the
Ravens, making 11 saves on 25 shots just over 43 minutes of action.
Junior Ryan Hulse (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial)
relieved Campbell for the final 16:38 and stopped the only shot he
faced. Blake Barnett (Florrisant, Mo./Christian Brothers) played
the entire game in net for the Lions, turning away 7-of-16 attempts
to earn the win.
Franklin Pierce (1-2, 0-0 NE-10) returns north for its
Northeast-10 Conference opener on Saturday at 1 p.m. against
American International College. Saint Leo (5-3, 0-0 DSC) continues
its six-game homestand against Dominican College on Thursday at 7
p.m.
