Bentley Shoots Past Franklin Pierce, 17-3

Gullage nets fourth-straight hat trick to lead Hawks to fifth-straight win

WALTHAM, MASS. (April 17, 2003) - Junior George Gullage recorded his fourth-straight hat trick to lead Bentley College to its fifth-straight win, a 17-3 victory over Franklin Pierce College, in Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse action this evening.

Junior Adam Dilly followed with a pair of goals, both of which he scored in the opening quarter, to go along with an assist. Junior James Thibadeau and freshman Ryan Bouchey also recorded a pair of goals and dished one helper in the win.

Sophomore and leading scorer, Nick Mincola (Cohasset, Mass./Gov. Drummer Academy) extended his scoring streak to six games with a marker against the Hawks. Derek Mandatori (Newton, Mass./Newton North) and Andrew McEntee (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) also posted markers despite the loss. Sophomore Frank Parker (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) recorded his first point of the season, picking up an assist on McEntee's goal in the third quarter.

The Falcons went on a tear in the first quarter, netting five quick goals in the opening minutes of the match. The Ravens only score of the half came from Mincola, as the Hawks peppered Franklin Pierce goalkeeper, Andy Cote (Middleton, Mass./ Masconomet) with 43 shots in the opening stanza. Bentley continued the charge in the second half, combining for eight goals on 19 shots on net.

Bentley goalkeepers, Chris White, Brian Nash and Andrew Hartig made a combined five saves in net, while Cote made a season-high 27 stops for the Ravens.

Franklin Pierce (0-6, 0-5 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday when it travels to No. 3-ranked Pace University for a Northeast-10 Conference match at 1 p.m. Bentley (6-2, 6-0 NE-10) next travels to No. 1-ranked LeMoyne on Saturday for a Conference match-up at 3 p.m.
