Men’s Ice Hockey’s Williams Signs ATO with Knoxville Ice Bears

RINDGE, N.H. (March 1, 2019) – Senior defenseman and captain Jack Williams (Suffield, Conn.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team has signed an amateur tryout contract with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League, as announced on Wednesday by the SPHL.

Lester Named NE10 Player of the Year; Men’s Ice Hockey has Two Honored by Conference

WINCHENDON, Mass. (February 22, 2019) – For the first time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team has produced the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year. The NE10’s leading scorer, junior forward Alex Lester (Methuen, Mass.) was selected as the league’s Player of the Year on Friday morning, and earned All-NE10 First Team plaudits to go with it. Also honored on Friday was freshman goaltender Kyle Martin (Westford, Mass.), who was named to the All-Rookie Team.

WINCHENDON, Mass. (February 16, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team wrapped up its season on Saturday afternoon at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena, as the Ravens suffered a 2-0 defeat to visiting Saint Michael’s. Senior forward Nic Hermary netted both goals to lead the Purple Knights in the Northeast-10 Conference affair.

(February 15, 2019) – With the team’s postseason hopes on the line, the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team came up a goal short on Friday night, as the Ravens suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of visiting Saint Michael’s at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Senior forward Nic Hermary had the game’s only goal in the Northeast-10 Conference affair, as Saint Michael’s clinched the fourth and final berth to the NE10 Championship with the victory.

Indelicato Hat Trick Leads Men’s Ice Hockey over Stonehill, 3-1, for Program-Record Win

WINCHENDON, Mass. (February 12, 2019) – For the first time in the program’s 17-year history, the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team has reached double digits in wins. The Ravens reached the team record in style on Tuesday afternoon, as senior forward Nate Indelicato (Pembroke, Mass.) put home all three Franklin Pierce goals to post a natural hat trick and lead the way in a 3-1 win over Stonehill in Northeast-10 Conference play at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Junior forward Alex Lester (Methuen, Mass.) assisted on all three goals, while younger brother and junior defenseman Mark Indelicato (Pembroke, Mass.) had a pair of helpers.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (February 9, 2019) – Again on Saturday afternoon, things were close through two periods, as Franklin Pierce trailed just 1-0 on the road at Sullivan Arena. For the second straight day though, host Saint Anselm put home a trio of third-period goals to pull away, as the Hawks rolled up a 4-0 victory in the Northeast-10 Conference contest. Junior forward Sean Verrier scored twice for Saint Anselm in the win.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (February 8, 2019) – Things remained close on the Sullivan Arena scoreboard through two periods on Friday night, even though the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team was being outshot at Saint Anselm, 38-14. The Hawks offense eventually proved too much for the Ravens though, as Saint Anselm put home three third-period goals to pull away for a 7-3 win in the Northeast-10 Conference contest. Junior forward Mike Ferraro scored twice, including the game-winner, for Saint Anselm.

SHELTON, Conn. (January 29, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team was defeated on the road on Tuesday night, 5-1, in a non-conference contest at Post. Sophomore forward Jake Raleigh scored a goal and added two assists for a three-point night to lead Post at Sports Center of Connecticut. Senior forward Nate Indelicato (Pembroke, Mass.) notched the lone goal for the Ravens.

(January 26, 2019) – The first two periods were quiet on Saturday night at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena, with a large, Athletes Backing Athletes night crowd left without much to cheer about. That would change in a big way in the third period, as the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team poured in four goals to deal a 4-0 defeat to visiting Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference play. Senior forward Nate Indelicato (Pembroke, Mass.) scored twice for the Ravens and junior forward Alex Lester (Methuen, Mass.) dished out three assists, while freshman goaltender Kyle Martin (Westford, Mass.) posted a 28-save shutout.

Quick Start Not Enough for Men’s Ice Hockey in 5-3 Loss to Assumption

WINCHENDON, Mass. (January 25, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team got started in a hurry on home ice on Friday night, with two goals in the first 39 seconds of its Northeast-10 Conference matchup with Assumption. Unfortunately for the Ravens, they would generate only 15 shots the rest of the way and the visiting Greyhounds would rally for a 5-3 win at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.

(January 19, 2019) – Making just his fourth start of the year, freshman goaltender Kyle Martin (Westford, Mass.) piled up a season-best 46 saves on Saturday night, to play a huge role in the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team earning two points at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Junior forward Alex Lester (Methuen, Mass.) popped home the game-winner 3:33 into overtime, to lift the Ravens to a 2-1 win over Southern New Hampshire in Northeast-10 Conference play.

HOOKSETT, N.H. (January 18, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team surrendered three power-play goals in eight chances on the road on Friday night at Southern New Hampshire. To make matters worse, the Ravens would strike only once in nine power-play opportunities of their own, on the way to a 5-1 loss to the Penmen in Northeast-10 Conference play at the Ice Den. Sophomore defenseman Max Kent dished out three assists in the win for SNHU.
