Men's Golf Ties for Fourth at Rain Shortened NE10 Championship

ENDICOTT, N.Y. (October 7, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men's golf program tied for fourth following a rain-shortened Northeast-10 Conference Championship hosted by Le Moyne College and the En-Joie Golf Club. The Ravens shot a 294 (+10) on the afternoon Sunday during the first round, but the team couldn't get back on the course in an attempt to climb up the leaderboard. 

FPU's recorded another fourth-place showing for the second consecutive year. Assumption College (292, +4) headed back to Worcester with its first conference title earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional. Southern New Hampshire University (293, +5) and Le Moyne (294, +6) wrapped up the top three teams.

Individually, Matt Johnson of Saint Michael's College was the Gordon McCullough Memorial Award winner shooting a 68 (-4) to capture the individual medalist honors.

Senior Nate Patterson (Conway, Mass.) paced the Ravens during competition holding strong with a 73 (+1) scorecard tying for ninth place individually. Patterson has been steady all year staying within the top 20 of every tournament so far.

Not far behind Patterson, senior Liam Donohue (Vernon, Conn) and junior Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) finished the first day 74 (+2) and 75 (+3) respectfully. Donohue deadlocked for 13th place and Plis led the pack of six players that tied for 17th.

Rounding out the Ravens group, the senior duo of Keeton Foster (Spofford, N.H.) (76, +4) and Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) (81, +9) also contributed to the Raven scoring.

The men's squad hits the road on Friday for the Saint Rose Fall Shootout hosted by the Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, N.Y.
