ORANGEBURG, N.Y. (11/17/24) - The Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team continued their search for their first win of the season, falling to Dominican (N.Y.) 82-72 in a closely contested non-conference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Caleb Gatewood made an early impact with a dunk following an offensive rebound. Demariontay Hall contributed a dunk and a layup in quick succession, narrowing the gap early in the first half. Despite their efforts, Franklin Pierce struggled with turnovers and fouls, allowing Dominican to maintain control with a score of 41-35 at halftime. 
  • The Ravens initially struggled to contain Dominican's Juelz Dickerson, who opened the half with eight quick points, extending the Chargers' lead. Despite the early deficit, Franklin Pierce's Demariontay Hall and Saeer Miller led a spirited comeback. Hall's aggressive play in the paint, including several key layups and a dunk, brought the Ravens within striking distance, supported by Miller's assists and defensive intensity. 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Ravens shot 57.1% from the free throw line (16 of 28). 
  • Demariontay Hall led the team with 22 points.
