Before Franklin Pierce: Gage played basketball at Sandwich High School and at the Tilton School...During his freshman year, he led his freshman team to an undefeated season...In his junior season, he was a varsity team captain and ranked within the top-10 scoring in the league, he was also nominated to the All-Star game...He was named captain his senior year as well and was a top-three scorer in the league, he made the All-Star game, was an MVP and a summer league champion.
