This Franklin Pierce University men's basketball recap is presented by Belletetes

ALBANY, N.Y. (January 19, 2019) – Franklin Pierce University men's basketball graduate student Jeremy Arthur (Westbury, N.Y.) tallied a career and game-high 24 points during the Ravens 94-74 Northeast-10 Conference victory against the College of Saint Rose Saturday afternoon at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

The win, the Ravens fourth over their last five games and third in a row, moves the Crimson and Grey above .500 at 9-8 and they even up their league mark at 5-5. The Golden Knights fall to 7-10 overall and 4-6 NE10 with the setback. FPU matched their 94 points they recorded in The Fieldhouse against Saint Rose earlier this season on December 8, 2018, in a non-conference tilt beating the Golden Knights 94-71.  

Arthur's scored his previous career-high of 20 points during his sophomore year competing for Trinity College, an NCAA Division III institution. He racked up 20 markers on November 18, 2016, at UMass-Dartmouth and matched it weeks later versus Saint Joseph's – Long Island. He also bettered his current FPU high watermark of 18 points set earlier in the campaign during an 86-83 win at Merrimack on December 5th.

He was 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the floor and 4-of-7 (57.1%) from beyond the arc making it the sixth game of the season of him knocking down three or more three-pointers and was unblemished from the charity stripe (6-for-6, 100%). Arthur also snagged a game-high six rebounds, handed out two assists, blocked two shots and came up with one steal.

Team captain David Bradbury Jr. (Deep River, Conn.) played a crucial role in limited minutes off the bench scoring 10 points in 14 minutes of play on 4-of-6 (66.7%) shooting including 2-of-4 (50%) from deep. Sophomore Sean Fasoyiro (Houston, Texas) matched Bradbury Jr.'s production with 10 points in 13 minutes as well. In all, five Ravens scored in double-figures.

For Saint Rose, guard Adam Anderson tallied a team-high 21 points on 7-of-12 (58.3%) shooting to go along with three rebounds, one assist and one block.

For the third consecutive game, the Ravens shot above 50% from the floor (28-of-56, 50%) and above 40% (14-of-32, 43.8%) from long range. FPU scored over their average points per game as they have the second-ranked scoring offense (84.2) in the league.

An Arthur layup gave the Ravens a 9-2 advantage. A 12-3 Golden Knight run capped off by a forward Matt Cerutti and1 pushed the hosts ahead 14-12 at the 13:46 mark. Arthur responded with a catch and shoot three-ball to move his squad back ahead 15-14 on the ensuing possession. Arthur's three-pointer was part of a 19-3 Raven binge that pushed them up 31-17 with 6:44 remaining before the break. The Ravens held the Golden Knights to only one field goal conversion during their run (1-for-10), used seven points from junior Doyin Fadojutimi (Temple Hills, Md.) and five apiece by Arthur and Fasoyiro.

Another Cerutti lay-in brought their deficit down to single figures, 33-24. The Raven lead extended to 21 points with seven seconds left when freshman forward Connor Cullen (Ankeny, Iowa) dished the rock from the perimeter to Bradbury Jr. in the left corner for the contested triple. FPU headed into the intermission up 51-30.

Franklin Pierce outshot their counterparts 64.3% (18-of-28) to 37.5% (12-of-32) in the first half while they outrebounded them by a 21-to-8 margin.

Freshman guard Brandon Kolek (Cumberland, R.I.) began the second half as he did on Wednesday by draining a corner three-ball off an Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, Md.) feed. He answered a deep Shane Herrity three from the NCAA logo with a catch and shoot trifecta of his own on the right wing to reestablish the 24-point Raven edge with 18:27 left to play. Fadojutimi knocked down the Ravens third three-point conversion of the half to improve their advantage to 27, 60-33 with 16:24 remaining. A couple of minutes later after a Lolami Lola-Charles (Aberdeen, Md.) stuff, the rock found Arthur for the Ravens fourth trey giving the Crimson and Grey a 63-33 lead. Junior guard Falu Seck (Washington, D.C.) capped off the Ravens 5-of-7 (71.4%) three-point stretch to start the stanza with a transition triple on the left side upping the advantage t0 66-35.

Holding a 30 point, 69-39 lead after Sam van Oostrum (Sheffield, England) split a pair of free throws at the line, Saint Rose outscored the Ravens 23-12 to bring their deficit down to a respectable 81-62 when Herrity hit a three with 5:31 left.

The Ravens remain away from campus on Wednesday when they take on Southern Connecticut State at 7:30 p.m.
