Eric Jean-Guillaume Named Division II Bulletin Second-Team All-American

Second All-America award for Jean-Guillaume this season

RINDGE, N.H. (March 29, 2012) -- Franklin Pierce University men's basketball standout Eric Jean-Guillaume (Stamford, Conn.) was named a Second-Team All-American on Wednesday by Division II Bulletin, a national publication devoted to the coverage of NCAA Division II basketball. It marks the second All-America award for Jean-Guillaume this season as he also earned similar accolades last week from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

Jean-Guillaume becomes just the fifth player in program history to be named an All-American and the first since Donald Johnson back in 2001. Jean-Guillaume averaged 14.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game during the season, while logging double-figures in scoring in 23 games, including seven contests of at least 20 points. He dished out at least four assists in 10 games and logged 13 contests with one turnover or less.

The junior guard had a decorated 2011-12 season. In addition to earning the All-America honors listed above, he was also named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, earned a spot on the All-NE-10 First-Team, was placed on the NABC All-East Region First-Team and was named to the Daktronics All-East Region First-Team. Jean-Guillaume also topped 1,000 career points back in February.

As a tri-captain, Jean-Guillaume helped guide the Ravens to one of the best seasons in program history this past winter. Franklin Pierce captured the 2012 NE-10 regular season championship, produced a 22-8 overall record (first 20-win season since 1996 and 12th overall), earned the No. 1 seed in the East region of the NCAA Division II Tournament, and was ranked in the national polls at one point during the regular season.
