NORTHEAST-10 ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

RINDGE, N.H. (February 26, 2010) – Franklin Pierce University men’s basketball standouts Kinard Dozier (Dedham, Mass.) and Eric Jean-Guillaume (Stamford, Conn.) were honored by the Northeast-10 Conference on Friday, as the league handed out its yearly awards. Dozier landed on the conference’s third-team, marking the second time in his three seasons he was placed on one of the all-league teams. Dozier was placed on the NE-10 All-Rookie Team during his freshman year of 2007-08. Jean-Guillaume was named to the all-rookie team, becoming the first player since Dozier to be placed on the squad.

Dozier put together a strong season for Franklin Pierce as he averaged a career-best 15.2 points per game, while leading the team in scoring. He ranked second on the squad in rebounding with a career-best 7.5 boards a game.

Dozier ranked among the Northeast-10 leaders in several categories following the regular season, including: scoring (12th); rebounding (7th); free throw percentage (12th, 79.3%); steals (10th, 1.81 spg); and defensive rebounding (10th, 5.11 drpg). He also played the most minutes of anyone in the conference at 997.

Dozier scored in double-figures in 21 games this season, including six games with 20 points or more. He had five double-figure rebounding games and produced five double-doubles.

Three moments in particular stick out as the most special for Dozier during the season. Dozier put together a spectacular 25-point, 17-rebound effort in Franklin Pierce’s 79-72 win over Saint Michael’s on Feb. 9. He went 13-of-15 from the free throw line, including an important 4-for-4 effort in the closing seconds to seal the win.

His next moment came in the following game at Saint Anselm on Feb. 13, as he scored nine points in the game to go over 1,000 points for his career.

Dozier’s other moment proved to be an instant classic as he hit a driving layup with just :01 remaining to break a 70-all tie and lift Franklin Pierce to a thrilling 72-70 win at 10th-ranked Bentley on Feb. 20. Those two points were part of his team-high 27 on the afternoon as he also pulled down 12 rebounds to record the double-double.

Jean-Guillaume had a solid rookie season in Rindge and ranked among the league’s freshmen leaders in multiple categories. He averaged 11.7 points per game, which ranked 30th in the league and fourth among all rookies. Jean-Guillaume logged 17 double-figure scoring games, including the final five of the campaign.

He scored over 20 points in four games, including a career-high 24 points in an 80-72 overtime win at Pace back on Jan. 6.

Jean-Guillaume’s 4.22 assists per game were tops among NE-10 rookies and fifth overall in the conference. He also led all rookies in steals with 1.89 per game, which was eight overall in the NE-10.

Franklin Pierce concluded the 2009-10 season with a 12-15 overall record and 7-15 mark in the Northeast-10. The Ravens finished just one game out of the final playoff spot for the NE-10 Tournament as they remained in the thick of the race heading into the final night of the regular season. Franklin Pierce opened the season 4-0, marking the program’s best start in 17 seasons.
