Bio

2007-2008: Started the first 12 games of the year before suffering a season-ending injury midway through the season. Finished second on the team in rebounding with 4.8 boards per game from the guard position and added 8.2 points and 3.5 assists per contest. Dished off a season-high eight assists in a win over Mercy (11/17). Had his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds against Bryant (11/25).

2006-2007: Appeared in 24 games as a freshman, making 22 starts. Finished second on the team in assists with 79 and fourth with 9.3 points per game. Scored eight points with a season-high four steals in his first collegiate game against Saint Michael's (11/17). Set new season highs with 22 points and eight rebounds in a win over Pace (11/29). Posted his second 20-point game of the year with 20 to along with seven boards, two blocks and two steals against Southern Connecticut State (1/6).

2005-06: Redshirt season.

Before Franklin Pierce: 2005 graduate of Hamden Hall Country Day School. Captained both the basketball and football teams and was named an All-Conference performer in both sports. Helped the team to a New England Championship in basketball.

Personal: Born April 30, 1986, in Houston, Texas. Son of Mike and Colleen Wellman. Has a brother, Jamond (26). Supports the Boston Celtics. Lists Paul Pierce  as a favorite athlete. His greatest sports moment is hitting a game-winning halfcourt shot to beat Hyde Prep. Majoring in business.
