Dedham, Mass., native selected for second time after double-double effort at AIC

RINDGE, N.H. (March 3, 2008) - Franklin Pierce University guard Kinard Dozier (Dedham, Mass./The Winchendon School) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week today.

Dozier, who earns Freshman of the Week honors for the second time, led Franklin Pierce to a 77-58 victory at American International College in the Ravens season finale as he posted his first career double-double with season-high totals of 26 points and ten rebounds. He made 7-of-10 shots from the field, including 3-for-4 from three-point range, while converting 9-of-10 free-throws to go with four assists and two steals in the victory.

Dozier, an NE-10 All-Rookie team candidate, averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.9 steals in a team-high 31.2 minutes over 27 games (21 starts) in his freshman season. He shot 36.6-percent (37-101) from three-point range and converted at team-best 72.8% (83-114) of his free-throws for the year.

Dozier led the Ravens in scoring eight times and rebounding on five occasions. He reached double-figures in scoring 13 times, netting 20-plus points twice. In Conference play, Dozier averaged 12.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals (5th NE-10) per game.

Franklin Pierce (10-17, 6-16 NE-10) completed its season with last Tuesday's win at American International, winning three of its final five games of the year.
