RINDGE, N.H. (March 1, 2007) - Franklin Pierce senior guard Darryl Minnifield (Boston, Mass./Brookline) has earned All-Northeast-10 Conference second team honors, by a vote of the Conference's head coaches, it was announced tonight.

Minnifield, an NE-10 All-Rookie team selection as a freshman in 2003-04, is the Ravens first All-Conference selection since Jimmie Hunt (2nd team) and Derek Rodgerson (3rd team) collected the honors in 2003-04 and the fourth second-team pick since Franklin Pierce joined the NE-10 in 2000. The two-year captain led the Ravens to a seventh-place tie in the NE-10 standings, hosting a postseason contest for the first time since their inaugural NE-10 campaign in 2000-01.

Minnifield, one of two Franklin Pierce players to start all 27 games this winter, averaged 14 points (16th NE-10), 6.3 rebounds (15th), 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in a team-best 36.4 minutes (4th) per contest. He also blocked 17 shots and hit 46.5-percent (128-of-275) shots from the field for the season. Minnifield's 4.5 defensive rebounds per game ranked 11th among NE-10 leaders.

Minnifield led the Ravens in scoring ten times and rebounding on eight occasions, while notching a pair of double-doubles. He became the first guard (17th player overall) in program history to reach 500 career rebounds, finishing 16th all-time with 549. Minnifield capped his collegiate career ranked ninth all-time with 153 steals and tenth with 285 assists among program leaders. He also totaled 904 points and 45 blocked shots in 105 career games played for the College.

This season, Minnifield matched his career-high of 21 points on two occasions, including Franklin Pierce's 78-70 victory over then No. 25-ranked Stonehill College on December 2. He also grabbed a season-high ten rebounds twice in wins over Saint Michael's College on November 17 and February 20 for the second and third double-doubles of his career. Minnifield also led the Ravens to a preseason victory over Division I University of New Hampshire on November 13 with 17 points, six rebounds, five steals and two assists.

Franklin Pierce finished its season with a 13-14 record overall, 11-11 in the NE-10.
