WORCESTER, Mass. (11/4/24) - The Franklin Pierce field hockey team earned themselves a spot in the NE10 playoffs and faced the Greyhounds of Assumption University Monday night. They fell 5-0 to the top-seeded team in the NE10 postseason tournament.

Records: FPU 4-15 (4-10 NE10), ASU 16-3 (14-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Greyhounds would get the scoring started in the 5th minute when Elle Murray would find Mia Salah for the 1-0 lead.  

  • Two minutes later, Caroline McSweeney would touch the ball towards Chloe Kaeller to go up 2-0.  

  • The Ravens would hold the Greyhounds off for the second quarter, not allowing a goal in the second quarter.  

  • The Greyhounds would come out hot after halftime with a goal from Salah in the second minute of the third quarter.  

  • Julia Carbone would pick up her first goal of the game in the 38th minute on an assist from Kaeller.  

  • Shortly into the final quarter of the game, Murrary would earn herself a goal for the night on an assist from McSweeney.  

INSIDE THE LINES:  

  • Goalies Zoe Noorlag (Amersfoort, Netherlands) and Addy Araneo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) combined for 19 saves. Noorlag made 13 while Araneo made 6.  

  • The Greyhounds outshot the Ravens 37-1.  

  • The Greyhounds had 11 penalty corners to the Ravens 0.  

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens' head into the off-season and will start play up in the Fall of 2025.
