MANSFIELD, Mass.  (October 21, 2019) –  Franklin Pierce University football freshman Tyvarius Daniels (Springfield, Mass.) has been selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week the league offices announced Monday afternoon. It is the first time in program history a football athlete has received an NE10 weekly award.

Daniels had three interceptions for 56 yards including one returned for a touchdown in the matchup with Saint Anselm on Saturday. Two of his three picks happened in the second half, his pick-six came midway through the third quarter as he went 56 yards for the only touchdown of the afternoon for Pierce. Along with the three interceptions, he added two tackles as well.

On the season, Daniels has 28 tackles, two pass breakups, and three interceptions. His three INT's rank him second in the conference.

The Ravens (1-6, 0-5 NE10) head out on the road to American International College (2-4, 1-3 NE10) for an 11:00 a.m. kick off on Saturday.
