Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 45th round (1,377 overall) of the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

Finished his career as the program's all-time leader in strikeouts (326)...Ranked second in school history in ERA (2.22), ranked third in innings pitched (255.0) and wins (22), ranked seventh in appearances (47) and tied for eighth in complete games (8).

Recorded the second-most strikeouts (115, 2011), recorded the fifth-best ERA (1.52, 2011), tied for the eighth-most innings pitched (88.2, 2011), recorded the ninth-most strikeouts (99, 2008), twice tied for the 10th-most wins (8, 2008 and 2011) and recorded the 11th-most strikeouts (93,2010) in a single season in program history.
