Scott Savastano Named To Midwest League All-Star Game
Former Raven will represent Western Division on June 23
Scott Savastano has been named to the Western Division team for the
Midwest League All-Star Game.

RINDGE, N.H. (June 9, 2009) –
Former Franklin Pierce University baseball player Scott Savastano has been named to the
Midwest League All-Star Game as a member of the Western Division
team. Savastano is currently playing for the Clinton LumberKings, a
Class-A affiliate in the Seattle Mariners’ organization.
The Midwest League All-Star Game will be hosted by Clinton on June
23 at Alliant Energy Field in Clinton, Iowa.
Savastano is hitting .318 (57-for-179) over 47 games so far this
season for the LumberKings, a batting average which places him 10th
in the Midwest League. In addition, he is seventh in the league in
on-base percentage (.411), tied for 14th in triples (3) and tied
for 19th in hits. Savastano has chalked up five triples, three
doubles and three home runs while driving in 23 runs and scoring 31
times. He has drawn 24 walks, stolen six bases and tallied a .430
slugging percentage.
Savastano was selected in the 28th round (852nd overall pick) by
the Mariners in the 2008 Major League Baseball First-Year Player
Draft after a standout junior season at Franklin Pierce. The
Plymouth, Mass. native was an ABCA/Rawlings All-America Second Team
selection, an NCBWA All-America Third Team selection and a
consensus All-Northeast Region selection. After being drafted,
Savastano hit .298 with four doubles, two triples and a home run,
drove in 15 runs and scored 11 times in 26 games with
Seattle’s Arizona League, rookie-level affiliate in 2008.
