RINDGE, N.H. (December 21, 2018) -- Earlier this holiday season, student-athletes from several Franklin Pierce University teams took time out of their schedule to do some volunteer work at the Villi Poni Farm, which is part of the Newfoundland Pony Sanctuary, located in Jaffrey, N.H.

Members of the Ravens rowing, women’s lacrosse and men’s lacrosse teams headed to the snow-blanketed sanctuary for a day of animal care. The student-athletes helped with grooming, barn chores and providing attention to the animals. Please see the link above for a selection of photos from the day.

The Newfoundland Pony Sanctuary provides care and safe haven for the critically-endangered Newfoundland Pony, of which only about 400 survive today. The Villi Poni Farm currently provides care for 20 members of the species. Over the course of its existence, the farm has cared for and helped find homes for nearly 80 animals.
