Follow the Ravens All Year Long

The Ravens Sports Network is your eyes and ears at the field, in the press box and courtside when you can't make it to Rindge for the games. A student-run entity under the supervision of the Athletic Communication department and the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication, RSN provides live coverage of over 75 home Athletics events and select road contests every year. A member of the Pierce Media Group, the Network privdes mass communications majors with invaluable on-air and production experience, allowing them to apply what they've learned in the classroom to a real-world experience as an undergraduate. Under the banner of the Ravens Sports Network, Franklin Pierce students have broadcast national championship games, NCAA Regional play and Northeast-10 Conference Championship competition. RSN can be heard from around the globe right here at athletics.franklinpierce.edu and is available in the Rindge area at 105.3 FM WFPC-LP.

New in 2012-13 under the Ravens Sports Network banner, the Department of Athletics will begin offering live, pay-per-view video streaming of a majority of its home events through BoxCast. Live video will be available for a price of $6 per game, which also grants the viewer access to the archive of the event to watch at any time in the future.

What Alumni are Saying

 Amanda Panaro

"Ravens Sports Network gave me once-in-a-lifetime experiences on a regular basis. As a result of hosting both conference and regional tournaments, I learned the behind-the-scenes diligence and teamwork needed to conduct a great event, despite however many rain delays one inning may present. From the weekend broadcast at historic Yale Field that saw the school's fifth Baseball Regional Championship, followed by a guest interview at the College World Series, to the send-off of men's soccer to the Final Four with piles of snow surrounding Sodexo Field, RSN created memories I will forever value and championships I will be talking about for the rest of my life."

- Amanda Panaro '12
Four-year undergraduate broadcaster
Assistant Director of Admissions, Franklin Pierce
Amanda served as color commentator for RSN's coverage of the 2010 NCAA Baseball Championship East Regional at historic Yale Field in West Haven, Conn., and has provided championship-level coverage for Pack Network and the Northeast-10 on multiple occasions.

 Dave Vishniac

"The opportunity to broadcast collegiate athletics on the Ravens Sports Network was unbelievable, to say the least. When I said I wanted to be on-air in college, I had no clue how great of an opportunity it would be. I mean, how many college students get to say they called two National Championship soccer matches, a College World Series, and countless other incredible regular season and postseason contests? I had that chance, and those experiences I'll never forget.

Knowing how much prep and professionalism goes into each broadcast, no matter how large or small the game, has prepared me for post-grad work, including professional productions with major media networks."

- Dave Vishniac '09
Former PMG Sports Director
Co-Producer, "The Steve Katsos Show"

Since graduation, Dave has also done freelance work
for national networks, including ESPN.

 Casey Williams

"I was very impressed with the sports broadcasting program at Franklin Pierce. It exceeded my expectations, even after selecting this University specifically for it's sportscasting opportunities. The smaller size of the RSN group, combined with the demand of the schedule, allows you to get as much first-hand experience as you could ever ask for. That extensive experience allowed me to transition into two professional sportscasting jobs. RSN also taught me management responsibilities that will always apply in a professional setting. My work for RSN completely satisfied my hopes of being a sportscaster, and continues to be some of my proudest accomplishments."

- Casey Williams '11
Former PMG Sports Director
Radio Communications Intern, Orlando Magic

Casey has also spent two years as lead broadcaster for the New England Collegiate Baseball League's Laconia Muskrats, and done freelance work with Pack Network, which provides coverage of many college conferences in the region, including the Northeast-10.

***Note: We're looking to hear from RSN alumni and put together a list of what they're doing now.
