University Announces Plans for New Athletic Training & Academic Center

RINDGE, N.H. (July 21, 2011) – Franklin Pierce University and the Department of Athletics has announced the school will break ground on a new athletic training and academic center this fall. The announcement was made on Thursday morning by University President Dr. James Birge before the school’s faculty and staff in Rindge Hall.
161 Franklin Pierce Student-Athletes Named to NE-10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll

RINDGE, N.H. (July 6, 2011) – Franklin Pierce University had 161 of its student-athletes named to the Spring 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. The 161 student-athletes came from 15 teams on the Rindge campus that compete in the Northeast-10. This year’s total eclipses last year’s mark of 132, and it represents nearly 50 percent of the Raven student-athletes that compete in an NE-10 sponsored sport.

RINDGE, N.H. (July 5, 2011) – A trio of Franklin Pierce University student-athletes were honored on Tuesday by being named to the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team for their respective sport. Senior standouts Derek Ingui (Sterling, Mass.) and Emily Griffin (Leominster, Mass.) were named to the baseball and softball teams, respectively, while sophomore Emily Lodge (Lyman, Maine) was placed on the women’s lacrosse squad. Griffin and Lodge each produced a 4.0 GPA during the past year, while Ingui recorded an impressive 3.8 mark.

(April 18, 2011) -- Three Franklin Pierce University student-athletes, men's basketball's Kinard Dozier (Dedham, Mass.), women's basketball's Marielle Giroud (Martigny, Switzerland) and ice hockey's Sean Woodring (Rogue River, Ore.), were recently named to the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Winter All-Academic Teams for their respective sport.

Honorable-mention honorees include: Ice Hockey's Bill Sullivan and Men's Basketball's Adrianos Vourliotakis Perdikaris.
Athletics Department Raises Money this Past Saturday for Norris Cotton Cancer Center on Breast Cancer Awareness Day

(February 16, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics, its men's and women's basketball teams, and the ice hockey program, helped to raise over $200 for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center of Keene this past Saturday during Breast Cancer Awareness Day on the Rindge campus.

RINDGE, N.H. (February 15, 2011) -- Six Franklin Pierce University student-athletes on Tuesday were named to their respective sport's 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Fall All-Academic Team. The six honorees included field hockey's Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) and Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.), women's soccer's Amanda Panaro (Rockland, Mass.), volleyball's Chelsie Kohout (Harrison Township, Mich.) and men's soccers Tom Reilly (Wallasey, England) and Victor Goncalves (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). All six student-athletes were also recently named to the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester.

RINDGE, N.H. (February 14, 2011) -- Franklin Pierce University recently had 168 of its student-athletes named to the Fall 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. The 168 student-athletes came from 15 teams on the Rindge campus that compete in the Northeast-10. On the men's side, the baseball team led the way for all teams with 33 of its student-athletes being named to the honor roll. The women's team with the highest number of honorees was the field hockey squad, which posted 16 of its members on the academic list.

(February 9, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics and the men's basketball, women's basketball and ice hockey programs will be helping the fight against breast cancer this Saturday during an exciting tripleheader of action. Franklin Pierce's colors are crimson and gray, but on Saturday, everyone attending the events is encouraged to wear pink to show their support of the courageous battle against the disease.

Franklin Pierce Recognizes Fall 2010 Athletic Department Honor Roll

RINDGE, N.H. (February 4, 2011) – The Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics is proud to announce that 108 of its student-athletes were recently named to the University’s Fall 2010 Athletic Department Honor Roll. To be eligible for selection, each student-athlete needed to post a 3.30 grade-point average, or higher, during the fall semester. The 108 student-athletes were honored on Tuesday night at halftime of the men’s basketball game against Stonehill.
